Mark Allen, Pitching Coordinator/Recuriting Coordinator
Mark Allen is a native of Vernon Texas. He played 4 years of collegiate baseball before becoming a college baseball coach. He pitched all 4 years in college.
Allen began his coaching career at St. Gregory's University while completeing his bachelors degree. Following St. Gregory's University, he was the pitching coach at Northlake Junior College before moving on to Frank Phillips College for a year. Coach Allen switch roles at Frank Phillips where he was used as the hitting coach. The Plainsmen hit .331 as a team under Allen.
After the '04 season Coach Allen made his way to North Central Texas College in Gainesville Texas for the next 4 years. In those 4 years, his pitching staffs amassed over 135 wins, went deep in 2 regional tournaments, and rearranged numerous pitching records. Not only was he the pitching coach but was also the recruiting coordinator.
While coaching in the college ranks during the school year, he has also gained alot of valuble experience in some of the better collegiate summer leagues in the country. In the summer of '99 Allen's arms led the Southwest Texas Collegiate in ERA. In '07 Coach Allen's Wisconsin Woodchucks of the Northwoods League led the entire league in team ERA with a 2.93.
In Just 7 years of coaching, he has had 12 pitchers who have been under his instruction drafted or signed to play professional baseball.
He has also had 18 pitchers go on to pitch a the Division 1 level.
Asside from being a year round pitching coach and recruiting coordinator, Coach Allen is also married with 2 daughters. His wifes name is Angela who is also a coach. She is a highschool head volleyball and softball coach in Texas. He has a 7 year old name Skylar Jade and a 3 year old name Avery Shay.
